Welcome Everyone!

Welcome to the Beijing Peloton Bike Club.

A “Peloton” is a French bike term for “a large bunch of (road) cyclists”.

This pretty much summarizes who and what we are.

We started riding “publicly” in 2006 but before this momentous date, there were some bike groups riding in Beijing. TRI-Beijing, a hardcore group of Iron Men, and the MOB come to mind.

Last year we rode almost every weekend on Sunday.

YES, throughout the winter months of December and January!

Our mountain rides started late March and ended early November, with almost every Saturday taken up by an awesome ride in the Beijing hinterlands. The pictures are below.

Mountain group rides are usually held on Saturdays and feature 15-45 people at a given time.

We also have an annual “Bike & Hike Weekend” on the agenda.

This year promises to be bigger and better, as we have learned to iron out the kinks in the group (logistics, accidents, time management, etc).

To sign up, just email me at:

I will add your name and address to the weekly newsletter.

I hope you will join us and learn to see and appreciate the hidden beauty of Beijing beyond the 6th Ring Road.

Cheers,

Tom Lanhove
